Step 3: Purchase a Domain Name
Steps to Purchase and what is needed when you purchase:
Step 1: Go To Site: www.GoDaddy.com (Best site I have found. And great commercials :-) )
Step 2: Pick Your Domain Name.
In the field that says "Start a Domain Name Search", enter your potential domain name. ie: thisismyfirstsite, dogsrule, goeagles, etc.. Next, you will be directed to a results page to show you if that domain name was available. If it is not available try to find a name that is close to this. ie: if "goeagles.com" is unavailable, try "eaglesrule.com", "gophiladelphiaeagles.com" Repeat this until you find a name you like that is available Once you have this domain name, click "Continue to Registration" or "add to cart"
Step 3: Register your new account (nothing more needed to say here)
Step 4: Do you have a website hosting service? (If you do not know, the answer is no. :-( )
You need to select a hosting plan. There are three kinds: Economy, Deluxe, Unlimited. What kind of website are you going to have is your next question. If you are planning on having a large amount of media (but not a crazy amount), then Deluxe is for you. If you are posting small amounts of data, economy is for you. If you are planning on listing over 150gb of content, unlimited is the way to go! Pricing for each if in an one year contract: Economy: $4.74 a month, Deluxe: $6.64 a month, Unlimited: $14.24 a month. The longer of a contract you get, the more money you save per month. Windows or Linux hosting are your two options. For any help you get on this website, it does not matter which you choose. Either work. I prefer Linux though. So either work NOTE: You can have as many websites per hosting site that you want! If you have 10 websites, you can host them all on one server. So this is a good way to save money if you have multiple domains
Step 5: Select the "certified domain" for $2.99 a year. A worthy fee.
Step 6: So in your cart there should be: Domain name, hosting selection (if applicable), and a certified Domain option

Step 8: Pay for it!
